Rosettes are steeped in tradition and history. Originating in 1802 with the Legion of Honor Award, a special designation established by Napoleon Bonaparte to recognize exemplary military service and civil merit, the original rosette was a ribbon-mount design and much larger than what is manufactured today.
In 1850, the rosette was redesigned and miniaturized so that it could be worn on civilian clothing. In 1877, the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States was the first organization in the U.S. to use a rosette to identify its members.
In 1976, C. Dexter Schierenbeck founded Dexter Rosettes, Inc., becoming the exclusive U.S. manufacturer of lapel rosettes. Today, we continue to be family-owned and operated. We are proud to perpetuate a fine tradition and rich history, producing products of the highest quality and craft.
